Paintball Hoppers

Selecting the Paintball hopper

One of the most important factors about paintball is choosing the right hopper. This is actually a piece of equipment or paintball gear that you simply cannot do without. The paintball hopper is the piece of equipment, where your paintballs are going to be placed. Usually one can easily find standard hoppers; which would load your gun at a rate of 12bps, or may be less. There are also special hoppers available for faster guns and thus you would want an electronic hopper for this purpose.

Facts about the hopper

There are many interesting facts about the hopper and this can be defined as the mechanism that carries your paintballs, before firing. Basically these hoppers can prove to be critical for your success in the game. Paintball hoppers are there to determine whether you or your team has the capability to be successful in the paintball missions.

Different kinds of hoppers

One can find many different varieties of hoppers these days and each of them have a different mechanism; in which the ball can be dropped. The capacity of each of the paintball hoppers also varies, like different paintball markers.

Gravity hoppers

There are some gravity hoppers; which function in the same way that their name suggests. These are actually the oldest paintball hoppers, where the paintballs have to be collected in a box. This box is made from a plastic container with a lid. Here the hopper is connected to the paintball marker through a tube. This confluent tube is large enough to only permit a single ball at a time. This ball drops just before the bolt and all sides of this hopper are sloped; which help the balls to move to the confluent tube naturally. These gravity hoppers are very simple to design and they are made of very cheap materials; which also makes these hoppers more inexpensive. These gravity hoppers have their disadvantages like the cheaper paintball markers.

Here the balls have a tendency to get blocked in groups and thus accumulating near the top of the tube. This results in loss of valuable seconds and if the ball must be shaken to get them out; it will also lead to breakage.

Stick Feed hoppers

These hoppers are designed in a way that they are parallel to the barrels, and balls lie in a line. For loading the balls, the balls are required to be rocked by the players in a forward direction to ensure a view to take the shot. Another model of the stick confluent is a vertical one, and like the paintball markers, these can also be outlawed in some tournaments.

Force hoppers

Among players who really like to play paintball, these are loaders with maximum popularity. These contain paintball markers, and would potentially be considered as a waste; if gravity was being used as the basic loading mechanism. They have a system which forces balls inside the gun and so players can get hold of the ball and then carefully load it, rather than mixing up the balls. There are also some electronic models available here, which are useful for trying to keep a record of the rounds; which are left inside the hopper.

Agitating hoppers

These are the hoppers that make use of a propeller, to prevent the balls from getting jammed. Usually balls get jammed at the top of the feed tube, but using this hopper prevents this from happening. These hoppers have the potential to work using gravity for bringing the ball back. However, there is less risk of getting jammed. These agitating hoppers were also the older type of hoppers; which were equipped with devices that having the latest technology. The paintball markers are complimented by the use of these hoppers.

These high tech devices helped the shooter, so that he can fire, even when there is no ball in the chamber. Apart from the many other benefits of this hopper, it also helps reduce the battery usage, along with gas, like in prior models. Hoppers forms the top ten equipments for enjoying Paintball, hence make a learned choice while choosing your hopper.
